Chris
Wimbles Interview
by Brin Alexander
Chris Wimbles was one of the new talent coaching for WVSC
in 2005. We decided to get one of our youngest members, Brin
Alexander to check Chris out.
Brin: What's your favorite
snowboard?
Wimbles: My favorite snowboard
right now is a Capita, I believe it's tyler Lapore's board
which he designed which really works for me.
Brin: He rides for option,
right. Oh no isn't he in Seymour Skids?
Wimbles: Yes he is.
Brin: Where do you like to
eat on the mountain?
Wimbles: On the mountain, breakfast
or lunch?
Brin: Lunch.
Wimbles: I'm going to have to
say Glacier.
Brin: We usually hit up Crystal
hut, burgers, steaks, salmon fillets.
Wimbles: Well I guess I'll be
learning a few things from you guys this year too.
Brin: How long have been
riding?
Wimbles: This winter will be
my tenth year. and you?
Brin: I'm ten and I've been
snowboarding seven years.
Brin: Have you ever been
to any other snowboard mountains.
Wimbles: I've been mostly in
North America, I spent a year in Tahoe a year in Mammoth.
Brin: I have a friend that
lives in Mammoth, Trevor Jacob.
Wimbles: Cool, I've also been
to Colorado, Utah
Brin: Park city?
Wimbles: Yup! I grew up in Kelowna
so I've been all over the interior of BC. That's about it,
I have yet to go to Europe or Japan but I'd like to to that.
Brin: I've been too Mount
Hood.
Wimbles: Yeah I've been to mount
Hood, What did you think of it?
Brin: It was rainy that day.
Who's your favorite pro snowboarder?
Wimbles: Umm, that's a good question.
That's a hard question for me because alot of my best friends
are my favorite riders but my most favorite, favorite rider
would have to be Johan Olofson. His part in TB5 got me into
thinking about snowboarding in a different light.
Brin: Sweet.
Wimbles: Who's your favorite
pro?
Brin: Kevin Sansalone, he'
rips and he doesn't smoke. Do you smoke?
Wimbles: No!
Brin gives Chris the thumbs up and continues skating.
